Used by Permission                                               MRS.  PENBERTHY   Hi!  Welcome to my school box.  After teaching 31 years, I am now retired. I had wonderful experiences teaching first, second, and fourth grade in  several different schools.  For many years my classes pretty well camped out in  the computer lab to enhance their research and writing skills; but then I became an eMINTS teacher. The eMINTS program focuses on inquiry based  learning through technology.  We not only learned how to use technology, but  used the technology tools provided by this Missouri project to learn solutions.  My classes enjoyed using 14 computers, a Smartboard with an LCD projector,  a digital camera, a flatbed scanner, a colored printer, and internet  access for all of the computers. All that technology made learning FUN!  Using their computers, my students practiced their skills, completed webquest, and produced outstanding projects.  Most importantly, they proudly presented their work on our classroom Smartboard.  The technology not only made learning fun, it also made teaching FUN!                                               "GARFIELD": (c) Paws, Inc. Used by Permission  GARFIELD and Jim Davis   Jim Davis grew up in Indiana along with 25 farm cats.  Since he had asthma,  he spent a great deal of time inside, and found that drawing helped to entertain him.  The cartoon character, Garfield, began syndication in 1978. Ten years later, Mrs. Penberthy adopted Garfield as her classroom pet. For the next 18 years she has enjoyed sharing Garfield's enormous appeal in her classroom.  Jim Davis gave Mrs. Penberthy written permission to use Garfield pictures in her classroom and on her website.
