Head Coach Brent Eckley Head Coach Brent Eckley has lead Union to an remarkable 30 and 4 over the past 3 years. This adds to his overall record of 73-24, including six playoff appearances. Another statistic that the city of Union has taken pride in is the Wildcats' 3-1 record vs. St Francis Borgia under Coach Eckley. During his time here at Union the high school football program has become well know, especially for its record setting offense. In 2008 Coach Eckley was acknowledged by his peers for excellence in coaching with the opportunity to speak at numerous clinics and coaches associations. He has also been chosen to produce a video series on his winning coaching philosophies.
Originally from Iowa, Coach Eckley graduated from Pekin High School in
1988 where he contributed to the school's history with all-state
honors in both football and basketball. After graduation he
continued his education at William Penn University majoring in
elementary education. At William Penn Coach Eckley continued his
playing career starting at multiple positions
for the Statesmen. He graduated in 1993 with a BA in
elementary education and certification to teach 1st through 8th
grade, K-12 physical education and BFS certification as a strength and
conditioning coach. In 2005 Coach Eckley was named the 7th head coach for Union football, coming from Montgomery County where he complied a 39-14 record, the best in the school's history. Before coming to Union, Coach Eckley also gained experience at Hickman Mills HS and Warrensburg HS. During his career Coach Eckley has helped to produce 47 college bound football players, including future Kansas Jayhawk Jordan Webb. Coach Eckley has also been named district coach of the year, conference coach of the year and has written numerous books and articles. Coach Eckley resides in Union with his wife of 18 years, Sherene, who also works for the Union School District. Together they have four daughters and a son, Hannah, Emily, Madison, Hillary and Marquis. |

![]() Brad Julius O-line & Outside Linebackers After graduation from Union high school in 1998 Coach Julius attended Missouri State University where he received a Bachelors in Education. After graduation, Coach Julius began his career at Parkview HS in Springfield, Mo with the Vikings. In 2004 Julius joined the Union Wildcat program and is currently in his 6th year with Union serving as a PE teacher and track & football coach. Coach Julius is married to Megan Julius and resides in Union. |
Gary
VogelWide Receivers & Defensive Backs Coach Vogel, originally a Washington HS graduate, participated in 4 conference championships. In 1974 he was part of the Blue Jays state championship team in Class 3. After high school Coach Vogel continued his playing career at Missouri Western, participating in 2 district championships and competing in the Mineral Water Bowl and the Boot Hill Bowl. Coach Vogel’s other coaching experience includes serving 5 years as an assistant coach at MO Western, GA at New Mexico State and 2 years as head coach for football and girls basketball in Little Rock, AR fat Lutheran HS. Currently coach Vogel is serving his 3rd year with Union filling the roles of receivers/secondary coach, special teams, defensive game plan and equipment coordinator. Gary Vogel also coaches boys basketball. Current teaching responsibilities are with the special education program at the Union HS. Coach Vogel is married to Meg Vogel with sons Sam, Clay, Ben and daughter Kail. |

Defensive Coordinator, Inside Linebackers & Running backs Coach Kelley is entering his 4th year as defensive coordinator for the Wildcats. While on staff he has coached LBs, RBs and DBs. Also a Union HS graduate, Coach Kelley attended the University of Central Missouri where he received a degree in Business Management. Coach Kelley is currently the lead OCS teacher in our district. |

KelleyWide Receivers & Defensive Backs Coach Nick Kelley is serving in his 4th season with Union. His role as a coach began shortly after graduation from Union HS. Coach Kelly is set for a 2010 graduation from Missouri Baptist Univ with a teaching degree. Coach Kelley is engaged to Jennifer Clark, a Union graduate.

Erick Webster Defensive Line & Offensive Line Coach Erick Webster graduated from Glendale HS in Springfield, Mo in 2000. While there he was a three year starter on both offense and defense. Coach Webster went on to play for the University of Missouri at Rolla and was a four year letterman on the offensive line. He graduated in 2005 with majors in history and education. Coach Webster came to Union in 2007 after coaching two years in Stockton, Mo. His wife Amy works with autistic children in St. Louis. |
